WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO:

FRIENDLY PEOPLE – We experience the Joy of the Lord at our meetings.  Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”

CLAPPING AND LIFTING OF OUR HANDS  – Psalms 47:1 “Clap your hands, all nations; shout to God with cries of joy.”  Psalm 63.4 “I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.”  1 Timothy 2:8 “I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.”

PRAYER AND ANOINTING WITH OIL – James 5:14 “Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.”

PRAISE & INTIMATE  WORSHIP – Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.” Psalm 150:1 “Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. 2 Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. 3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, 4 praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, 5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. 6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.”

SPEAKING IN TONGUES AND INTERPRETATIONS – This is an expression of the gifts of the Holy Spirit given for spiritual uplifting within the church congregation.  I Corinthians 14:4 says, “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.”

PREACHING OF GOD’S WORD; RELEVANT AND CHALLENGING – 2 Timothy  4:2 “Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage– with great patience and careful instruction.”  Hebrews 4:12 ‘For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

GIVING TITHES AND OFFERINGS – Malachi 3:10 “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.”  2 Corinthians 9:6-9 “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

WHAT WE BELIEVE:

THE SCRIPTURE’S INSPIRED – we believe the Scriptures were inspired by God and declare His design and plan for mankind.

ONE TRUE GOD – we believe there is only one true God revealed in three persons…Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).

THE DEITY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST – We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ as God’s son Jesus was both human and divine.

THE FALL OF MAN – Though originally good, Man Willingly Fell into Sin–ushering evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world.

THE SALVATION OF MAN – Every Person Can Have Restored Fellowship with God Through ‘Salvation’ (trusting Christ, through faith and repentance, to be our personal Savior). [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]

ORDINANCES OF THE CHURCH – (1) Water Baptism by Immersion after repenting of one’s sins and receiving Christ’s gift of salvation, and (2) Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation.

THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT – We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a Special Experience Following Salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New Testament times. [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]

THE INITIAL PHYSICAL EVIDENCE OF THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT – the evidence is ‘Speaking in Tongues,’ as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles.

SANCTIFICATION – we believe that Sanctification initially occurs at Salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christ-like.

THE CHURCH AND ITS MISSION – the church has a Mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin. We believe ‘the Church’ is the Body of Christ and consists of the people who, throughout time, have accepted God’s offer of redemption (regardless of religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ.

THE MINISTRY – We believe in a Divinely Called and Scripturally Ordained Leadership Ministry Serves the Church. The Bible teaches that each of us under leadership must commit ourselves to reach others for Christ, to worship Him with other believers, to build up or edify the body of believers–the Church and to meet human need with ministries of love and compassion.

DIVINE HEALING – we believe in the divine healing of the Sick is a Privilege for Christians Today and is provided for in Christ’s atonement (His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins). [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]

THE BLESSED HOPE – We believe Jesus will rapture His Church Prior to His Return to Earth (the second coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever. [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]

THE MILLENNIAL REIGN OF CHRIST – we believe Jesus will return with His saints at His second coming and begins His benevolent rule over earth for 1,000 years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel and the establishment of universal peace.

A FINAL JUDGMENT – We believe a final judgment will take place for those who have rejected Christ.  They will be judged for their sin and consigned to eternal punishment in a punishing lake of fire.

A NEW HEAVENS AND A NEW EARTH – We look forward to the perfect New Heavens and a New Earth that Christ is preparing for all people, of all time, who have accepted Him. We will live and dwell with Him there forever following His millennial reign on Earth. ‘And so shall we forever be with the Lord!’
